Children’s Dental Sedation
Going to the dentist can be stressful for anyone, let alone your child. That’s why our San Antonio children’s dentists are experts when it comes to children’s dental sedation — a way of making some dental procedures much more comfortable. We offer nitrous oxide, conscious sedation, and IV sedation/general anesthesia.
Nitrous Oxide (N2O or Laughing Gas)
Laughing gas is a mix of two gases, nitrous oxide and oxygen. A fitted mask is placed over the nose and normal breathing allows uptake of the gas into the lungs.

Conscious sedation is sometimes used for very young children that are unable to cooperate for dental treatment due to the extensive amount of treatment needed or for some children that have an extreme amount of dental anxiety.

IV Sedation / General Anesthesia
IV Sedation/General Anesthesia is a deep sedation where the patient is completely asleep during dental treatment.
